Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s Master’s Dissertation On Energy Management for Net-Zero Energy Buildings Based on Smart Technology

Technical College-Musayyab, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University discussed a master dissertation on energy management for net-zero energy buildings based on smart technology by the postgraduate student, Ms. Lina Abdul Karim Ali.

The dissertation aimed at designing a zero-energy (NZE) system for residential buildings in Iraq based on renewable energy sources and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to stabilize electricity supplies and reduce outage problems through smart energy management via prioritizing electrical loads and monitoring energy consumption in real time, with a focus on integrating passive design and solar energy technologies to ensure high energy sustainability and efficiency.

The dissertation confirmed that integrating passive design and solar energy with IoT technologies can achieve an effective and stable zero-energy system for residential buildings in Iraq to contribute in reducing consumption and reliance on traditional sources, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative, enhancing load management efficiency and providing greater stability for energy supplies.

The dissertation recommended the necessity of adopting passive designs and using insulation materials to improve energy efficiency in residential buildings, as well as focusing on hybrid systems that combine solar energy and Internet of Things technologies to intelligently control energy consumption.
