College of Science, University of Misan discussed a master dissertation on isolating and molecular diagnosing of anaerobic bacterial isolates by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Zahraa Farqad Farouk.
The dissertation aimed at isolating and diagnosing the bacterial strain (Porphyromonas gingivalis) from the oral cavity of some patients with gingivitis and periodontitis in the Misan Governorate Center for age groups between 11-70 years.
The dissertation reviewed the collection of 100 samples of isolated anaerobic bacteria belonging to 50 patients suffering from gingivitis, diseases and periodontitis in the center of Misan Governorate for seven age groups ranging between 11-70 years (≥ 10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41). -50, 51-60, 61-70 years) to identify bacterial isolates causing gingivitis and periodontal diseases.
The dissertation recommended studying other causative factors that increase cell invasion by other gum disease pathogens, as well as what was mentioned, it is better to conduct more long-term studies, which are necessary to determine whether the genotypes of the virulence factors (fim A Porphyromonas gingivalis) can be maintained for long periods over time, and whether these genetic patterns of virulence factors have an impact on the stages of development of gum and periodontal diseases over time.
