Technical College- Musayyib, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University discussed a master dissertation on monitoring system for the smart grid and renewable energy based on the Internet of Things by the postgraduate student, Mr. Mortadha Hamid Jabbar.
The dissertation aimed at interacting the smart grid system with modern communications systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT) with the load priority algorithm.
The dissertation demonstrated that implementing a smart grid model in practice includes three sources: the national grid, solar energy, and wind energy, with three types of loads that are of high, medium and low priority.
The dissertation highlighted the success of the system through effective monitoring and rapid response to GUI commands, as the delay time was only (0.5) and the load priority algorithm succeeded in controlling loads by (100%).
The dissertation recommended creating a smart network system in which the electrical network is connected directly to the Internet of Things cloud and designing a load priority algorithm to control more than three loads in different secondary stations.
