During the scientific conference entitled (Towards a National Strategy for Development of Iraqi Women According to Islamic Approach and National and Social Constants), His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi confirmed that women are partners in the success of university institutions and their scientific achievements.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that female faculty members constitute 41% of the total number of faculty members in universities.
His Excellency said that educational and university institutions are full of distinguished female competencies who occupy important positions at the level of university president, assistant university president, general director, college dean and assistant dean and the head of the department, as well as the female faculty members, which represents 41% of the total number of faculty members in public and private universities.
Dr. Al-Aboudi urged the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research to contribute seriously to raise the levels of community awareness, publicizing the importance of women’s involvement in the national development process, demonstrating their impact in building society and achieving a firm conviction that believes that the responsibilities of women’s development are not limited to one party, but rather are a shared solidarity responsibility that falls on everyone’s shoulders.
His Excellency called on establishing a national environment supportive of women according to authentic Islamic, national and societal constants.
It is worth to be mentioned that the conference will continue for the two-day included delivering official speeches by several female representatives of relevant Ministries and institutions, as well as research sessions dealing with the impact of women in reforming society and their impact on economic development, community building and sustainable development.
