During the smart education event held in cooperation with Huawei, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi stressed on providing high-quality education enhanced by technology through partnership and cooperation with major international institutions.
Dr. Al-Aboudi expressed the importance of the qualitative event that embodies a partnership and interest between the relevant departments in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Huawei, which has provided important work in the field of information technology and communications, in order to achieve this goal, the space is the cooperation required to diagnose and implement what Iraqi students and youth need within the framework of the future of smart education and digital transformation.
His Excellency continued by saying that the tangible achievements that Higher Education’s institutions have formulated at the level of scientific research and development of educational systems require direct strengthening of training programs in order to achieve modernization and development responsible for keeping pace with the rapid changes in the digital world, indicating that it has become necessary to work on establishing the aspect of embarking on the digitization of educational climates, which includes smart classrooms in universities and colleges and updating their aspects.
Dr. Al-Aboudi added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is setting on this occasion a context of understanding that paves the way for enhancing smart education methods in academic institutions and is launching serious steps in the field of developing a comprehensive and integrated system for nurturing talent in the information and communications technology sector.
It is worth to be mentioned that the smart education event included inking memorandum of cooperation among Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Huawei Academy for Information and Communications Technology and the Talent Ecosystem Programs, as well as delivering speeches by the Chinese Embassy, UNESCO, the General Director of Studies, Planning and Follow-up and the Director of Smart Education at Huawei, besides a speech by the CEO of Huawei in which he announced the Huawei ICT Competition 2024\2025.
