Al-Qadisiyah University’s Ph.D. Thesi on Using Nano-Extracts as Inhibitory Effect for Cutaneous Leishmaniasis

College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Al-Qadisiyah discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the use of some nano-extracts as an inhibitory effect for cutaneous leishmaniasis by the postgraduate student, Ms. Rana Saleh.

The thesis reviewed that there is an inhibitory effect of silver nanoparticles and the possibility of using them as an alternative treatment for chemotherapy (Pentostam).

The thesis aimed at finding an alternative treatment for the drug Pentostam, which is currently used to treat cutaneous leishmaniasis due to its side effects on patients.

The thesis recommended studying the effect of nanoparticles on the cutaneous leishmaniasis parasite in the body of the living organism and using the produced silver nanoparticles as an antibiotic to control the insect carrying the disease, as well as studying the effect of the nanoparticles produced in the study on other parasites.
