About Department of Environmental Health
Department Overview:
The Department of Environmental Health was established at the College of Applied Medical Sciences in 2011 to meet the country’s need for specialists in the fields of healthcare and environmental health. The department aims to prepare graduates who are qualified to serve and develop the healthcare and environmental sectors, keeping up with global developments.
Department Vision:
The department aims to position the university, and the college and department in particular, in a prestigious and promising scientific place both locally and internationally through its academic programs and scientific research, in accordance with quality assurance standards.
Department Mission:
The department seeks to lead in the fundamentals of scientific research and contribute effectively to providing local and Arab communities with active cadres and specialized expertise that are capable of keeping pace with the scientific advancements within the higher education system. The department also aims to develop leaders capable of making the necessary decisions for the advancement and development of society.
Department Objectives:
Providing qualified specialists: The department aims to equip the Iraqi community with specialists and experts in environmental health, in line with the country’s policies for environmental health.
Conducting applied research and statistical studies: The department works on finding scientific solutions to the health and environmental issues facing society.
Serving and developing the community: The department maintains continuous and direct communication with environmental and health institutions to provide scientific advice and solutions to societal issues.
Promoting scientific and environmental awareness: The department works on spreading scientific culture and raising health and environmental awareness among citizens of Iraq.
Department Activities:
Conducting applied scientific research: Research is based on issues and research plans from health and environmental institutions, fostering scientific and research collaboration between the department and these institutions.
Establishing scientific cooperation: The department collaborates with several Iraqi universities and research centers, enhancing the research process and fostering joint cooperation for future activities.

Organizing seminars and workshops: The department holds successful seminars and workshops to enhance environmental health awareness in society.
