Basrah University’s Master’s Dissertation: On Examining Plant Extracts & Their Resistance to Salt Stress

College of Science, University of Basrah discussed a master dissertation on green synthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts and testing them against salt stress of some aquatic plants by postgraduate student, Ms. Malak Khalaf Dayesh.

The dissertation aims at using sustainable and environmentally friendly development materials to improve the conditions of aquatic plants and simulate the natural conditions of river water.

The dissertation highlighted the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using extracts of the leaves of the Shafallah and sea thistle plants and using them to resist salt stress in the chamblane plant and improve the properties of the aquatic environment.

The dissertation recommended the necessity of using environmentally friendly materials in environmental treatments that have low, available costs and do not cause any harmful effects on the environment.
