College of Science, Al-Qadisiyah University discussed a Ph.D. thesis on histological and molecular immunohistochemistry of some vital signs for prostate cancer patients by postgraduate student, Ms. Taghreed Hatim Khamis.
The thesis aimed at determining genetic variation by studying polymorphisms of some genes and studying histopathological changes and protein expression of prostate tissue.
The thesis confirmed that the occurrence of mutations and decreases in some proteins such as E-Caherin and ATM leads to an increase in the incidence and development of prostate cancer.
The thesis recommended studying blood groups and their relationship to contributing to the occurrence of prostate cancer, and working on a comparative study of some standards for patients before and after taking treatment, whether hormonal or chemotherapy.
