During a press conference, His Excellency, Head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi announced that the Balad Base in Saladin Governorate and the Nahrawan Site in Al-Mada’in district in Baghdad are free of radioactive contaminants.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that the Iraqi national teams removed within a record period the radioactive contaminants at the base of the town in Salah Al-Din Governorate and the Nahrawan Site in Baghdad Governorate.
His Excellency added that the work comes within a national plan to remove pollutants.
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the national monitoring teams conducted radiation surveys and concluded that the sites were completely free of pollutants and that the work was according to national and international standards and requirements.
It is worth to be mentioned that the conference was attended by the members of the Diwani Order Committee No. (23580).
