During 1st conference for educational programs in correctional institutions, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi signed a memorandum of scientific cooperation with the Ministry of Justice in the field of educational and training services and programs for inmates in correctional institutions.
Dr. Al-Aboudi confirmed that cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Justice represented an important part of a positive context that indicates a joint commitment to meet the integration methodology and achieve development and national goals.
His Excellency added that Higher Education and its universities are committed humanely and professionally to provide all aspects of support and assistance in all the fields needed by the Ministry of Justice in all its formations, especially with regard to scientific and academic expertise in the sector of teaching inmates, as well as supporting, training and qualifying guidance and psychological and social counseling specialists, as well as providing opportunities developing and supervising the implementation of joint programs.
For his part, the Minister of Justice, Dr. Khaled Shwani said that the memorandum of cooperation between the two Ministries will contribute to expand educational and train programs in correctional departments and schools throughout Iraq.
Dr. Shwani reviewed that continued cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research through partner universities has contributed to the success of the project and the development of its educational contexts.
It is worth to be mentioned that the conference included delivering a valuable speech by the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, as well as a presentation of the educational program in correctional departments and schools, the President of the University of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, the President of Al-Ain University, Dr. Shafiq Shaker Al-Mawla, and a number of figures in the Ministries of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Justice who made a positive contribution were honored in implementing the educational program in correctional institutions, as well as the conference was attended by the Ministers of Justice and Education and a number of representatives, officials and advisors.
