College of Science, Kirkuk University discussed a master dissertation on the quantitative estimation of some pharmaceutical drugs in their pure forms in their pharmaceutical preparations using different analytical methods. by the postgraduate student, Mr. Mohammed Fadhil Hamad.
The dissertation aimed at developing innovative analytical methods to estimate important pharmaceutical compounds such as valsartan and amlodipine, as these compounds are used to treat high blood pressure, heart attacks and angina.
The dissertation demonstrated using three simple and highly sensitive analytical methods to estimate these compounds, whether in their pure form or within their pharmaceutical preparations.
The dissertation reviewed three methods demonstrated their efficiency and high accuracy, as ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy confirmed its effectiveness in analyzing compounds using the Mannach complexes technique, while the cloud point extraction method showed great advantages in analyzing samples with low concentrations without the need for complex equipment, while the flame atomic absorption technique achieved high accuracy and speed in analysis, making it useful for pharmaceutical analysis.
