]]> Based on the responsibility of our students to maintain the University of Karbala and to show it as best as possible, the volunteer team in our college rehabilitated and painted the iron barriers and the gates of the back gate of the university site in the staff district on Monday 20/5/2019 corresponding to 14 / / 1440H and under the supervision of ADD. Jawdat Nouri Ghayeb Al-Gheshmi Dean of the College After the preparation of all the requirements was initiated volunteer work and the Dean of the College that such activities have a great impact in the hearts of our students and develop the spirit of the brothers and the team one of them and said that the establishment of this activity in the holy month of Ramadan had a positive impact on students being Month of mercy and tender, especially that this activity with special financial funding did not load the college any financial expenses

Educational Seminar

“The Disadvantages and Damages of the Abuse of Drugs and Illicit Alcoholic Beverages”

According to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the AMS held an educational seminars on the phenomenon of substance abuse and alcoholic beverages and their impact on the social and economic level under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences and the Department of Environmental Health at the Faculty in the Grand Hall of Imam Al-Sadiq (PBUH) in the building of the Scientific Departments in the College. The seminar included four axes delivered by Dr. Ali Mousa- Faculty of Medicine / University of Kerbalaa\ and the instructor Karim Khudair Karim / Department of Environmental Health and Dr. Nawras Al Tayyar / Department of Health Guidance / Karbala Health Department and Colonel Hussein Nasrawi / Drug Control Police officer in the Holy City of Karbala. The seminar included the definition of the presence of health and social aspects and legal consequences of the drug abusers. The symposium issued recommendations including the need to raise awareness among the members of society about the negative effects of drugs and alcohol and that the state and civil society institutions measurements to have the responsibility by themselves to combat this deadly phenomenon.

ضمن الفعاليات العلمية لقسم الصحة البيئية والمتضمنه إقامة ورش العمل والدورات العلمية لمنتسبي وطلبة الكلية تم تنظيم دورة تدريبية حول (قياس نسبة الدهون الكلية Lipid profile ) والتي ألقاها المدرس كريم خضير كريم ولمدة يومان حيث تضمنت الدورة جزئين جانب نظري تم فيه تعريف الدهون وأنواعها ومخاطرها على الصحة العامة وكيفية الحد من الدهون ذات التأثير السلبي وضرورة الإلتزام بحمية غذائية وممارسة النشاطات الرياضية لمنع تجمع الدهون وما لها من مشاكل صحية تكون في بعض الأحيان سبب في وفاة الإنسان بينما تضمن الجزء الثاني من الدورة إجراء إختبار قياس Lipid profile للمشاركين حيث تم شرح الأمور الواجب إتباعها قبل إجراء الإختبار والتي منها عدم تناول الغذاء لفترة من 8 – 12 ساعة لتكون النتائج على مستوى عالي من الدقة ، وحضر الدورة كل من رئيس القسم أ.د. كريمة فاضل عباس وعدد من تدريسي ومنتسبي الكلية.

The Head of the University of Kerbelaa' Performs an Opening Ceremony for the New Building of the Department of Medical Laboratories and the Laboratories of the Department of Environmental Health in MAS
With the presence of the Dean of MAS, asst. Prof Jawdat Al-Jash’amy and the deans of the colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy, Prof. Bassim Al-Se’eedy Phd, the Head of the University of Kerbelaa’ did an opening ceremony for the new building of the department of Medical Laboratories and the laboratories that belong to the department of Environmental Health. The new building of the previously mentioned department has been witnessed some maintenance work recently. It includes classrooms with new equipment and teaching staff’s rooms. On the other hand, the laboratories of the department of Environmental Health has been witnessed some maintenance work similarly. They have been supplied with the modern benches from remarkable factories.
The Head of the University, overwhelmingly, praised the great effort done by all the staff of the MAS which aims at supporting the  education in this college, that developing the building structure of a college helps in upgrading the Students’ educational  scientific level too. The ceremony was on Wednesday 25th of Nov., 2021.

Following the instructions of the ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the MAS opens its door for the BSc. Evening Class registry of the academic year (2021-2022) and in both departments: Medical Laboratories and Environmental Health. The lowest range of the nominated students’ general average is to be 65% for both departments. The department of Medical Laboratories is planned to accept those who finished their biological branch of their preparatory study while the department of the Environmental health is planned to accept those who finished their biological or applicable type of the preparatory study. The annual cost of the study is (2000,000 ID) for the BSc. Degree in Medical Laboratories while it costs (1500,000 ID) for the BSc degree in Environmental Health. For registration and more information about the required papers to be submitted, it is advised to consult the Section of Registry in this college. The Submission of papers will be closed on 19th of Dec., 2021.

The Evening Class of the department of Environmental Health has been renewed in the AMS according to the ministerial administrative order No (5482) on 17th –Aug-2021 which denotes that all the requirements are achieved as stated in the regulation No. (135) of (2000). It is planned that the evening study in this department shall commence its first classes in the next academic year, 2022-2023.

Supervised by the dean of the college of Applied Medical Sciences (AMS), Asst. Prof. Jawdat N. Al-Jash’amy PhD, and pursued by the dean’s assistant for demonstrative issues, Asst. Prof. Adnan M. Al-Sa’eedy PhD, the Section of Maintenance in the college has implemented some repair work for the facilities of the department of Environmental Health (EH) in this college. The reparations have included the renewing of the flooring and the windows, supplying the laboratories with new benches of a certain quality and air conditioners. The building titled as (The Building of the Scientific Departments) where these works have done,  welcomes the students of the department of  EH while commencing their new academic year 2021-2022.
