University of Kerbala Holds a Scientific Symposium on Environmental Impact Assessment of Industrial Projects

To be delivered by Dr. Abbas Abdul Ameer Al-Ammari, Dr. Zaid Kamil Jawad, Asst. Lect. Anfal Khadir Abbas, and Asst. Lect. Dhiaa Qahtan Al-Akabi, College of Education for Humanities, University of Kerbala organizes a scientific symposium on “Environmental Impact Assessment of Industrial Projects.”
The symposium aims at raising awareness among participants about the importance of environmental impact assessment as a tool for protecting environment and ensuring sustainable development. It also explains the concepts and foundations of environmental impact assessment, including stages, procedures, and approved standards. It has discussed how to identify, estimate, and mitigate negative environmental impacts of industrial projects, as well as ways to promote integration and balance between industrial development and conservation of natural resources.
The symposium deals with several topics, including environmental impact, its concept and impact on sustainable development, process of assessing environmental impact of industrial projects.
