University of Kerbala Holds its Sixth International Scientific Conference on Veterinary Medicine

To achieve progress and prosperity, President of University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali inaugurates the 6th international scientific conference under the slogan “Veterinary Medicine and its Role in Promoting Public Health and Sustainability”- College of Veterinary Medicine.
Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali states that organizing conferences is an evidence of the University ambitious vision so as to raise level of scientific research and knowledge.
He adds that the University aims at exchanging experiences and knowledge, which is the best way to achieve progress and sustainability.
The conference has been attended by a number of official and academic figures from inside and outside Iraq.
For his part, Karbala Governor Eng. Naseef Jassim Al-Khattabi points out that this conference represents an urgent necessity, since College of Veterinary Medicine significantly has an impact on public health, sustainable and economic development.
Human health is inseparable from animal and environmental health, as Dr. Muhammad Al-Kaabi; Dean of College of Veterinary Medicine, says. He explains that there are approximately (837) diseases common to humans and animals, the most prominent ones are hemorrhagic fever, avian influenza, and COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, working on One Health project has become a necessity, especially in light of an increase in global livestock production, which requires development of policies that take into account food safety, animal welfare, and environmental health.
