University of Kerbala Discussing a Ph. D. Dissertation entitled the Role of Linguistics in Criminal Justice

College of Law – University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph. D. dissertation which is entitled “The Role of Linguistics in Criminal Justice: A Comparative Study”.
To be submitted by Ansam Muhammad Ali, the study aims at identifying the concept of forensic linguistics, clarifying the nature of texts, it analyzes, its characteristics, and its distinction from other similar sciences.
It also explains how to employ forensic linguistics with its various mechanisms to benefit from it in analyzing crimes in which language is a means of committing them, and analyzing linguistic evidence.
The findings show that forensic linguistics studies legal language in general and the first case in which this science emerged in its present-day form is a criminal case.
