Kirkuk University’s Master’s Dissertation on Preparing & Identifying Nucleosides Derived from Amino Acids

College of Science, University of Kirkuk discussed a master dissertation on preparing and identifying nucleosides derived from amino acids by the postgraduate student, Ms. Nabaa Abd Al-Rasul.

The dissertation aimed at preparing a group of new compounds derived from amino acids and nucleosides and identifying them using advanced spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 1C-NMR, while studying their biological activity as antioxidants.

The dissertation concluded that some compounds demonstrated high antioxidant activity through the DPPH test, with the highest free radical inhibition rate reaching 81.25% at a concentration of 100 µg/ml, other compounds exhibited moderate to low activity, reflecting the influence of chemical composition on biological activity.
