Al-Qadisiyah University’s Master’s Dissertation on Improving Herbal Extraction to Achieve Effective Extraction of Medicinal Compounds

College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University discussed a master dissertation on improving herbal extraction to achieve effective extraction of medicinal compounds. by the postgraduate student, Mr. Wad Noman Mohammed.

The dissertation reviewed determining the optimal conditions for extracting two active compounds (eugenol and caffeine) using a Soxhlet apparatus and green ethanol solvent, as well as studying the extraction of eugenol and caffeine using a Soxhlet apparatus and ethanol solvent.

The dissertation emphasized that each compound has its own optimal extraction conditions and that eugenol extraction is more sensitive to operational factors than caffeine and provide a scientific basis for improving local extraction processes in various industries.
