Discussing relationship between God and man in modern Arabic poetry, Dr. Bushra Hanoun Mohsin Al-Saadi, College of Islamic Sciences- University of Kerbala, has published a book on “God and Man in Pioneers’ Poetry – An Epistemological Study.”
The book addresses a thorny and profound topic centered on nexus between God and man, particularly in pioneers’ poetry, from an epistemological (cognitive) perspective that highlights philosophical and cognitive dimension of this relationship within poetic text.
From a literary perspective, author believes that investigating this topic is one of the most difficult disciplines, given analysis of symbols and connotations it requires, as well as an understanding of intellectual trends and literary schools that influenced the poets’ output.
The study focuses on how pioneer poets interacted with social, political, and intellectual changes that swept across Arab reality, and their reflection in God’s and man’s images within modern poetry.
This publication is an important scholarly addition in field of modern literary and critical studies and contributes to embark on a new cognitive horizon for researchers and those interested in fields of Arabic poetry and advanced intellectual and critical studies.
