Effect of bisphenol A on leptin hormone concentration and the protective role of vitamin E and C to abatement from these effect in Albino rats

ABSTRACT
Objective: the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of bisphenol A exposure during pregnant and lactation period in leptin hormone levels in newborn at adulthood and study the role of vitamin E and C in these effects
Methods: In the experiment 14 male & 42 female rats were used . Females proved to be in estrus phase were mated with mature male rat in separate cage . Then pregnant female (42) females were separated from the male & divided in to 7 main groups (6 for each group). The first group was served as control in which the rats were daily orally gavaged with 0.5 ml/kg /bw of corn oil followed by oral administesion the second and third group gavaged 50 mg , 200 mg/kg/ bw of BPA the fourth and fifth groups gavaged 50 mg with vitamins E,C and the sixth and seventh groups gavaged 200 mg with vitamins E,C respectively from gestational day till weaning of their offspring & their offspring were reared and hold without more dosing until day 90 of age . at day 90 of age , 6 males & 6 of F1 rats of each group were taken to mesure the leptin hormone concentration .
