A Training Course for Preparing Iraqi E-learning Trainers

Since our country passes a very urgent critical health situation out of coronavirus pandemic which opposes exceptional measurements that let the educational process be turned into an electronic one, the ministry of higher education and scientific research organized a Professional Training Course for preparing electronic learning trainers in cooperation with the educational institutes of IREX with the participation of the ministry of higher education in the Federal Region of Kurdistan-Iraq and the American Embassy in Iraq. The participation of our college was asserted be the attendance of the responsible of the unit of e-learning in AMS, the lecturer Muhammed M. Hashim Zainy, in it.

The purpose behind such course was to prepare a qualified trainers to let the Iraqi teaching staff in Iraqi universities be capable of successful managing of the electronic educational platforms. The course lasted for two months within 40 training hours in addition to the duties and tests which were required while training. The course was under three headings: the first one was theoretical to have a vivid comprehension of the notions related to the e-learning while the second one included an explanation of the most important educational platforms such as Google classroom and Edmodo. The third subject in this course was about the applications used in electronic meetings, such as: Google Meet, Zoom in addition to WebEx.

The main training lecturers in this ministerial course were  some Iraqi experts in addition to three of the members of the ministerial team and five experts from American universities. The Graduation ceremony was attended by Prof. Ghassan Hameed PhD. The General Director of the Directorate of Research and Development  in the Iraqi ministry, Mr. John Kinkanon, the person in chair of the educational issues in the American Embassy in Baghdad and a number of the elite staff responsible of this course. Our lecturer passed the course successful gaining A Training Certificate.
